My journey with trees began as a child in Germany, spending long days playing in the forest behind my house. After moving to California in 2014, I realized that working with nature wasn’t just an interest, it was my life’s passion. I began my career as a garden manager in a therapeutic garden for adults with special needs, where I learned to work with care, patience, and attentiveness. From there , I moved into biodynamic farming, and later into horticulture and fine gardening.
Throughout every phase of my work, trees were always what drew me in most. They brought me the greatest sense of focus, peace, and satisfaction, and over time it became clear that arboriculture and fine pruning were where my skills and interests aligned most deeply. My background across farming, gardening, and landscape systems allows me to understand how plants relate to one another, how trees function within forests and gardens, and how thoughtful pruning fits into a cohesive, living landscape.
As a steward of plants, I believe every decision we make should take into account its full impact on the soil, water, and local ecosystem. This perspective guides how I approach pruning, orchard care, and long-term tree health, with an emphasis on responsibility, restraint, and respect for the life of each tree.
